Arklow Town Under 15s |
Apr 7 Shock for Town as Rovers leave their mark Town's 100% start to the Shield competition was stopped very firmly in its tracks with visitors Wicklow Rovers coming to Bridgewater Centre Park and inflicting a first defeat for the Town. A rare off day for the team, goals from Sean Guilfoyle and Gary Tyrrell were all Town had to show in a disappointing 2-5 defeat. |
Mar 9 Town stride on with comfortable win Immense Town made it two wins from two with a comfortable day's work against St. Anthony's earlier today, at Bridgewater Centre Park. A 3-0 victory sees Town atop the U15 Premier Division, still in its embryonic stage. Dean McCormack opened the scoring for Arklow and he was to find himself on the scoresheet twice today. Keith Hayes added the other goal as Town eased past their opponents. |
Feb 24 Town out of cup Immense disappointment for the Town's U15 side who were on the receiving end of a 3-1 scoreline in Avondale earlier today, as the home side progressed to the next round of the cup at the expense of the Town. Stuart O'Neill's goal was Arklow lone moment of cheer on the day, as their opponents now anticipate a home quarter final tie in the cup. |
Dec 16 Disappointment for Town in Evans Cup exit Arklow Town U15s have failed to make it into the last 32 of the Evans Cup after a disappointing defeat at home to local rivals Wicklow Rovers. The away side were comfortable 3-1 winners on the day, the result leaving the Arklow side to focus their attentions now solely on securing the U15 Premier title. |
Nov 11 Town given National Cup walkover Arklow Town U15s advance to the next stage of the Evans Cup after Dublin side Carbury gave the Town a walkover. |
Nov 4 Town show Carnew who's boss Previous league leaders Carnew were given a lesson on home soil by a determined Arklow Town U15 side, unbeaten all season, at the south county Wicklow venue on Sunday. Andy Nicholson gave the travelling Town side the upper hand when opening the scoring. Sean Guilfoyle doubled the Arklow side's lead when converting a penalty. Just an observation from the webmaster's seat but it appears as though the U15's alone receive the benefit of an occasional penalty, duly converted by Mr. Guilfoyle! Mark Doyle and Gary Tyrrell added to the scoring later on to confirm a more than convincing 4-0 victory for the Town that now sees them replacing Carnew atop the division - and still with a game in hand. |
Oct 21 Blessington hit for eight A hat trick from Sean Guilfoyle was the main talking point as the Town's U15 side swept into the next round of the Evans Cup with ease at Bridgewater Centre Park earlier today, defeating Blessington 8-0. Gary Tyrrell weighed in with two goals himself with other goals coming from Stuart O'Neill, Mark Doyle and Keith Hayes who was on target from the penalty spot. |
Oct 14 Fifteen's knock Glencormac off the top An excellent 3-2 victory over league leaders Glencormac, at the Community College, has seen the Arklow Town U15s replacing their opponents earlier today at the top of the League. A hard fought game was won with goals being scored by Sean Guilfoyle and Gary Tyrrell with the other goal being an own goal conceded by a opposition defender. |
Oct 7 Just like the traffic - stalemate at Bridgewater! Town preserved their unbeaten start to the season after a disappointing scoreless draw with St. Anthony's at Bridgewater Centre Park. |
Sep 23 Thank Evans for Bobby belter! A tough draw for the U15 side in the Evans Cup saw the Town travelling to Ballywaltrim to face South Dublin side Ardmore Rovers (not to be confused with the Wicklow side of the same name). Nothing given, nothing taken, the game was decided by a solitary strike from Town's Bobby Belton, to ensure the Black and White side advance to the second round. |
Sep 9 Carnew hold home side Our U15 side had to settle for a share of the spoils with a determined Carnew after a lively encounter at Lameberton on Sunday finished 2-2. The Arklow goals were scored by Stuart O'Neill who converted from the penalty spot and Eddie Werder. The team are now preparing to face Ardmore (South Dublin) in the opening round of the National Cup next weekend, the game being played in Ballywaltrim |
