Feb 27 Town brush aside Newtown challenge to lift Title
With the opening goal being scored by Daragh Murray, the destination of the John Tobin Youth League title was never in doubt, as Town required just one point to lift the Title.  The records will show Town easing to the Title with a comfortable 4-0 victory secured on a fresh night at Bridgewater Centre Park, with all the damage done in the opening half as Town placed their opponents Newtown firmly on the back foot.  Craig Ledwith added a second and a third followed not long afterwards, Murray again on the scoresheet.  The fourth goal scored only served to highlight the home side's dominance not only tonight but throughout the successful campaign.  Well done lads.

Champions!

Feb 16 Fergals hit for eight as Town stand on brink of Title
An emphatic 8-0 victory over St. Fergal's at Ballywaltrim earlier today sees Arklow Town requiring just three points now, to lift the John Tobin Youths title.  Town were in complete control of this game from the first whistle.  Peter Kenny, who opened Towns account after 8 minutes, is in Arklow on a four month holiday from Australia.  He is the son of Owen Kenny who Town fans will remember as the centre-forward on the all conquering youths team of the early eighties.  The other goals came from the Ledwith brothers, Craig and Danny with two each, Conor Murray (2) and Richie Power.  With three home games left the Town are well placed to take the first silverware of the season - hopefully their time coming as early as next Wednesday week at home when the Town welcome Newtown to Bridgewater Centre Park having already beaten them in Newtown last October through goals by David Moorehouse and Dean Barry.

Feb 9 Dramatic comeback by Town brings title one step closer
The Town's first meeting of the season with Ardmore Rovers proved to be quite a dramatic encounter, with the Bray side shocking the travelling Town side with an opening half double salvo, and the Arklow side were fortunate not the be trailing by more than the two goals at half time.  The comeback began midway through the second half with Dean Barry powerfully volleying home after a good cross from Paul Werder. Ten minutes later, the sides were level, as Daragh Murray got on the end of a Stephen McLoughlin cross to head home.  However, the Town suffered a setback with the dismissal of Paul Werder, sent off for reacting to a challenge having just picked up a first booking of the game.  With four minutes remaining some nice play between Daragh Murray and Dean Barry afforded the latter to play in Conor Murray, bursting through at pace.  Barry played a superb ball into Murray who beat the keeper rushing out, lofting the ball over the keeper and into an empty net, to give the Town a lead they thought they'd not see at half time.  The points were secured in the last minute of the match with Dean Barry once again the creator.  He found Conor Murray on the right wing who saw his shot initially saved by the Ardmore keeper but his quicker reaction to the rebound saw the Town adding a fourth goal.  Seven points now ahead of Wicklow Rovers with a game in hand, the title is there for the Town if they can continue their fine run.
