A really good game played by both sides Wicklow rovers opened the scoring. But the town boys got stuck in and deservedly got back on level terms with a superb free kick from Kevin O Regan about twenty yards out in the second half Wicklow piled on the pressure but a fine save from Teirnan Mellon to tip a rasping shot over the bar seemed to lift the town boys again. Second half the town took the lead with a great header from Harrison Penn. Wicklow again piled on the pressure and snook a goal on the near post. extra time again Kevin O Regan took the plaudits with a breaking run run from midfield and smashed home a shot from the edge of the box into the top corner. As the clocked ticked down the real drama came came as Wicklow pressed and pressed and got their reward as a ball bounced around in the six yard box saved twice by Teirnan and cleared off the line by Corey Mills it was eventually poked home with about two minutes to go in extra time. Town, hero of the hour was Teirnan Mellon pulling off two great saves in the shoot out. Scorers in the shoot out were Aaron Kelly, Glen Kelly, Liam Kinsella & Harrison Penn.
