Mar 17 2009 Town add plenty of colour to St. Patrick's Day Parade
Arklow Town Football Club (Juniors) turned out in great number for the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade through the streets of Arklow. This year's 6s and 7s Club lead the way and aside being highly colourful they were also heard, with regular shouts of "Arklow Town! Arklow Town!" The very colourful U8s and U9s looked fantastic and obviously enjoyed the parade. Plenty of colour and vocals also with the older age groups. Congratulations to all who represented the Club in the Parade, as we were voted the Best Sporting Organisation in the Parade. And truth be told, it was a well deserved acknowledgement!
May 18 2008 Club celebrates its sixtieth birthday in style
Arklow Town Football Club celebrated its sixtieth year by hosting a black tie Gala Ball at the Arklow Bay Hotel last evening. An excellent turn out of players, ex-players, officials from assorted sporting bodies and special guests. Great to see so many past players attend the night, particularly those who travelled from afar - such as Billy McKay and Barry Hoban to name but two. The honour of becoming Arklow Town's first ever club president was bestowed upon the shoulders of Michael Morgan - an honour and position he was delighted to accept, as he donned his new club jacket, with the club logo emblazoned upon his new jacket. Equally taken aback was Daragh Murray, an absolutely merited acknowledgement of his never ceasing work for the club and on behalf of its many members (a thankless job at the best of times) as he was the recipient of the Hall of Fame award, which he received from Liz Bermingham, daughter of the late John Keogh, a founding member of Arklow Town FC. Produced and packaged by Colm Kavanagh, who received the Clubman of the Year award, continuous screening of a specially made dvd commemorating our first sixty years was shown on a screen - an abridged collection of memories throughout the first sixty years of Arklow Town Football Club, from its humble origins back in 1948 up to the present day.
May 15 2008 Town managers face younger AGB counterparts in fundraiser clash
An eventful and entertaining two games in both codes between the (ageing!) Arklow Town FC schoolboy/girl managers and their younger AGB counterparts (some of whom are still playing schoolboy football with The Town - and not forgetting a certain inter county player for the Dubs!!!), played under brilliant evening sunshine at Bridgewater Centre Park was eventually decided in a dramatic penalty shoot out, with the younger and fitter AGB team prevailing. All in all, plenty of craic in the two meetings across the codes!
Mar 17 2008 St. Patrick's Day Parade
For once, just once, the sun shone brightly on a beautiful spring day in Arklow. A sizeable number of Arklow Town junior players took to the streets earlier today, participating in the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade. With the Town celebrating this year 60 years as a club, many of our younger players held aloft signs indicating each and every year. A number of our U12 players led the club behind banners indicating the club's stature as a sporting body in the town. Congratulations to all the youngsters who were in fine voice as they marched up the town's Main Street! Please feel free to submit your own photo's for inclusion in the gallery if you so choose.
May 1998 Town celebrates a Golden Jubilee
Arklow Town Football Club celebrated its Golden Jubilee in fine style with a Black and White Gala Dinner at the Arklow Bay Hotel. Central to the celebrations was the awards secured over the season by our winning senior sides, both at Leinster Senior League level and Wicklow League.
