The Present |
Today the Club has 24 teams ranging from U7 up to U16 and 3 Senior teams. Four years ago the Club won its first ever International Trophy at U14 level. Arklow Town players have captained several Wicklow Kennedy Cup Teams.
In the past, some select players joined Dublin clubs with the notion that it would enhance their progress. Now however we are keeping them in our club as our facilities, coaching and profile increases.
All Arklow Town teams are coached and managed by people with F.A.I. approved coaching badges. We had 5 players representing Ireland at U12 playing in the Danone International tournament in Paris in September 2004, a great experience for the players and more recently we've seen Shane Murray recognised at U16 international level.
Arklow Town Schoolboys has changed it's name to Arklow Town Juniors to encourage girls to join our Club and help make it bigger and better. The Wicklow Schoolboys/Girls League U12 County Development Squad is run by 2 Arklow Town Coaches. The Wicklow Schoolboys/Girls League 2006 Kennedy Cup Squad was run by 4 Arklow Town Coaches. The Wicklow Schoolboys/Girls League U14 County Development Squad is run by 2 Arklow Town Coaches.
